Welcome to the website of Kenworthy & Co based near Tring, Hertfordshire. Run by Al Bartlett since 2016. Wooden boat building and restoration have been my passion since graduating from the Boat Building Academy in 2012.
My boatbuilding and restoration work has ranged from clinker dinghies, carvel steam launches, replica ships, film and TV sets, narrowboats and barges.
I strive to build trust, understanding and sympathy of aims with each customer, to produce not only the best possible outcome, but the best experience for you - and that means the greatest job satisfaction for me.

Workshop
80ft x 20ft dedicated workshop fully equipped for anything you can throw at us. Based in Rural Hertfordshire, near Tring. We are on the Grand Union Canal. Fully covered with CCTV and insurance.
About
Al Bartlett qualified from the Boat Building Academy in Lyme Regis in June 2012 and worked for the respected Boat Builder Peter Freebody on the Thames in Hurley for a few years before relocating to Tring to restore the family historic Narrowboat.
I’ve since taken on a workshop and customers here and continue to uphold the highest standards of workmanship, keeping the traditions of the past alive and embracing newer technology.
